YMCA Outside School Hours Care

 

Essendon Primary Outside School Hours Care provides an opportunity for children to participate in a range of art & craft, sporting and healthy cooking activities outside school hours. The YMCA ensures a high quality standard of care is provided, so children learn and grow while having fun in a safe environment.

Before Care 7:30am-8:45am

The aim of Before School Care is to set children up to have a successful, stimulating day at school. To help with the morning rush, all children are provided with a healthy breakfast including cereal, toast, fruit juice and seasonal options including fruit toast, crumpets and muffins in winter and fruit salad and yoghurt in summer. Activities are provided to help get children mentally ready for school and include lego, board games, cards, chess, drawing and creative play.

 After Care 3:30- 6:00pm

After School Care gives children the opportunity to grow, develop and learn new skills in a fun and exciting way. All children are provided with a healthy afternoon tea, and where possible, help to prepare food and serve each other. We are a proud site of Active After School Communities- where professional coaches deliver action packed sessions to children attending after school care for FREE! There are also plenty of opportunities to create, engage and explore with new friends in art and craft, cooking activities.

Special Events

Stay tuned for Special Events including fundraising and celebrations- in 2008 we celebrated a great grand parents 100th Birthday at After School Care, complete with party invitations, balloons and a special cake! If you have something you would like us to celebrate with you, please let us know.  

Staff

Our experienced, caring staff all possess their Working With Children Check, a clear Police Records check, and CPR certificate. There is always First Aid available during Before and After School Care programs from our qualified staff.
